The proposed Allen Hall Expansion and Remodel will accommodate the growth of University of Oregon's School of Journalism & Communication and modernize the existing building systems.

The 16,000 sf addition and remodel of the 1922 east wing and 1954 west wing of the existing building will establish a main entry to the building and provide a center for the school that organizes interior circulation.

A new daylight-filled, 3-story atrium gently knits the historic wings with the new addition. Digital Commons, a dedicated, adaptable, studio-type teaching/learning lab area, will accommodate the changing pedagogies of journalism and encourage the development of a collaborative culture.
