5,023 SF - Addition, Aquatics Facility
This project included the demolition of the old pool facility and a portion of the administration building to make way for a new pool facility addition of approximately 5,000 sf. Associated with this project was the limited redevelopment of the adjacent parking fields, landscape areas and site utilities.
TBG worked with a dedicated owner's board and the building maintenance staff during the schematic design phase. The result is the newest attraction for a familiar resort on the Central Oregon coast.
Originally conceived as a replacement building to house an existing pool with a few added amenities for the Driftwood Shores Resort and Conference Center, the project concluded with a replacement of the entire pool and spa facility. Complete with a new main pool, spa with central fountain, children's wading pool, children's splash-play area and multipurpose room, the footprint of the new building doubled the size of the old and outdated facility. Associated with this project was the limited redevelopment of the adjacent parking fields, landscape areas and site utilities.
Being located in the harsh saltwater environment of the Central Oregon Coast, the building is clad with copolymer siding, heavy duty composition shingle roofing, stainless steel flashing and large high-wind-rated windows that allow generous amounts of natural light into the building during daylight hours. A new state-of-the-art dehumidification system was also installed.
